Background:
- Archemix has been very successful in partnering its aptimer technology platform. Its deal with GSK was not typical of previous agreements as it involved 7 targets each associated with its own set of financial terms.
Objectives:
- Position Archemix’s partnership with GSK around its aptimer technology as indication of strong interest to use this new approach in multiple target areas
- Manage multi-language media outreach across Europe
Method:
- As a private company, its difficult to garner US media coverage. To try to address this, the strategy in Europe was to first concentrate on media with pull back into the US, such as the news wires that would be interested due to the GSK connection
Results:
- Major placements in Associated Press, Reuters and Bloomberg that were picked up extensively by US media outlets including print, online and broadcast
- Extensive coverage in major European publications, including Wall Street Journal Europe, Daily Express
- Comprehensive coverage in trades, such as SCRIP, MedNous, PharmaTimes, Marketletter, APM Health, Biotech & Finances, transkript
